Dr. Patrick Mangonon, a heart surgeon and lung cancer surgeon with over 20 years of experience in the field, is a partner in the ADVENT HEALTH MEDICAL GROUP  Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Surgeons. He and his partners practice primarily at ADVENT HEALTH  Daytona Beach (formerly known as Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center).

Dr. Mangonon thoroughly evaluates each patient, determines if an operation will be helpful and then designs an individualized surgical care plan to cure that patient’s heart disease or lung cancer. Dr. Mangonon and his partner, Dr. Utpal Desai, often operate together to provide patients with the highest quality surgical care and consistently achieve superior outcomes. Dr. Mangonon believes that every patient’s life is sacred. He treats every patient and their family with the level of respect and compassion that he or his loved one would want to be treated.

Dr. Mangonon earned his medical degree from the University of Miami in 1992. After completing his general surgery residency at the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics in 1997, Dr. Mangonon completed his Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic surgery at the Ocshner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans in 1999.

He then began his private practice career immediately after training in West Palm Beach, FL and practiced in the Palm Beach County area for nine years. In December 2008, Dr. Mangonon was recruited by a busy solo surgeon in Ft. Pierce, FL and practiced in the St. Lucie county area for nine years. Because of his breadth of experience in minimally invasive heart valve surgery he was approached by the progressive Advent Health Medical Group about an opportunity to join a tremendous practice. Dr. Mangonon joined the Advent Health Medical Group Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Surgeons in the Fall of 2016.

The practice serves patients from Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Flagler, Palm Coast, Port Orange, Edgewater, New Smyrna Beach, Titusville, Deland, Deltona, Orange City, Lake Mary and Sanford in addition to the patients in the local Ormond Beach/Daytona Beach area.
